WHERE: Most events are based at the Oregon Convention Center, but four other locations are also in play – Portland International Raceway, KingPins in Beaverton, OMSI in southeast Portland, Mt. Motor Rally, 8 a.m., Oregon Museum of Science & Industry.400+ Veteran athletes are also competing from Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, United Kingdom and Puerto Rico.(In Oregon and southwest Washington, athletes come from Portland, Happy Valley, Milwaukie, Oregon City, Tualatin, Eagle Creek, Cloverdale, Roseburg and Vancouver). 32 veteran athletes are competing who hail from Oregon and Washington.Competitions include the array paralympic-style individual and team sports such as soccer, rugby, basketball, track and field, powerlifting, slalom, archery, disc golf, softball, pickleball, table tennis, billiards/9 ball, boccia, air rifle and trout fishing. Honor our servicemen and women and see the feats of strength and endurance for paraplegic and quadriplegic Veterans. Veteran athletes have arrived in Portland from around the United States (including Puerto Rico) to compete in National Veterans Wheelchair Games.
